I Loathe The Last Airbender...

Shyamalan's version, that is.
I can't... even put... into words... the severe agony I felt during the excruciating pain of sitting through that dreadful hour and half. From the moment the screen displayed that cheap mockery of the Television Show's Opening... I knew it would be the longest movie of my life. I loathe you, mr. Director, for taking away everything that was lovable about the show, and turning it into an awful torture ride.

In recovery, I've decided to revisit a few of my past fanart of that beloved animated tv show. I've redrawn, recoloured, or restyled some of my fanart to see how my style's changed over the years. And because I really need an outlet to express my burning repugnance toward the live action movie.

Shyamalan.... never... again.

Tribute to the Beginning - Part 1

CARDCAPTOR SAKURA (aka "CardCaptors")

This is part 1 of the series of marker doodles of television shows and films that inspired me to be a part of the wonderful world of Animation.

CardCaptor Sakura was a brilliant show. It was like taking the best of pokemon and sailormoon and mashing it up into one great storyline.

I'm not ashamed to say that I was a total fangirl of this series. I watched it religiously, and then rewatched the episodes on my VHS tapes to the point where I memorized the lines.

I also owe it to this show that I started picking up the concept of colour, action, design, and appeal--that even now, I still remember and utilize.

There are many shows that helped jumpstart that switch in my brain that told me I wanted to become an animator. But this show, by many standards, takes the top tier of the cake.

kudos, Cardcaptor Sakura.
You made me me.

Its a good day to be Canadian

Getting pretty excited here for Canada's current standing in the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. Three golds in one day, 13 in total. Very impressive, Canada!
The cherry on top would be the gold in men's hockey, if we beat USA tomorrow. It would mean 14 golds, and a new record for most golds in the history of all the Winter Olympics.
Canada's sure glowing with red hearts all over. I wanted to buy these sweaters back in january... dunno why i didn't, because they're pretty much sold out all over.
Oh well, I guess drawing the outfits I want comes pretty close.

GO CANADA GO! =)

"Everybody has a waterbuffalo, yours is fast but mine is slow..."

Bought the children's book "Duchess of Whimsy" by Randal De Seve and Illustrated by Peter de Seve. BRILLIANT illustrations, done in lovely watercolour (and maybe some pencil crayon, I'm not sure). But its a wonderful book, great story, with illustrations to die for---for a watercolourist like myself.

I did this illustration of a little filipino boy riding a buffalo (inspired by the De Seve style), and I think I wanna create a children's book based on this illustration.
