Caption for Batman

My good buddies and I started a tumblr of fanart where the subject changes every friday, and we post as much as we can regarding the subject.
This week's topic is none other than my favourite, Batman!

Sadly, I was staring at my screen for like 20 minutes trying to come up with a caption, but I really suck at putting captions on my own drawings, so I thought I'd open it out to you guys to put some witty caption along with this doodle.

Enjoy! :D

(EDIT)
A friend told me that the pose looked like Despicable Me dude, and suggested I add in the bat fam as the 3 girls (unicorn too!).

Cookies to those who know who that is in the background. :)

Rugged grace

I think Korra is one of my all-time favourite characters to draw. She has a very rugged grace to her movements, its very dynamic, and always poetic. Any time I want to warm up in sketching, I always do a few scibbles of Korra.

I was studying some old block print paintings of Hokusai’s work, and I really like the faded print look, so I decided to try it out on a quick 15 min sketch of Korra.

Epiphanies and Junk

Two weeks ago, my friend and I had gotten into a pretty serious car accident.
Thankfully, no one was really hurt, and the pain we're going through now is miniscule compared to if we had lost our lives.

I know people have really lame epiphanies about life being short and junk... but there is clear truth in the cliche phrase. Life is a breath. Fast and short, and leaves you wondering how it went by so quickly. So I encourage you to live it meaningfully. Do the things you always say you're gonna do, follow through with plans you've always made, dwell on the things that matter, forget the things that don't, and search for the Truth your innate curiosity has always wondered about. Live Life Meaningfully. (I was never a fan of the YOLO saying).

That being said, I've always had this one particular storyline in the back burner of my head, since I can remember first learning how to draw. Its evolved over time, changing as I learn more about the delicate art of story-telling while continuously searching for my style.

Anyway, I've always kept it in notebooks, or the back of my mind... but now, I think its time I start really exploring, and get it off the ground somehow. Its always been a distant dream of mine to do a graphic novel, so I thought why not start?

This piece is just a snippet of what I've been working on since forever.
It doesn't say much about the story or character, and it'll prolly change over the years, but I figure life's too short to leave everything as a "one day...".
I'll start with "today."

*lame epiphany music*
lol!

1st Character Card.
Her name is Zia.

She's a quick-witted runner from the eastern mountains who enjoys a good race here and there for good sport... and to show off a little when people overlook her strength because of her totem animal.

Her Totem is a Rabbit.

Sun and Stars part 2

Khaleesi: When will he be as he was?
Witch: When the sun rises in the west, sets in the east. When the seas go dry, and the mountains blow in the wind like leaves.

Number 1 Fan

Its been a week since I've had the will to draw something for myself outside of work.
Its been a rather... uninspiring week, so to speak, and I've had very little strength or motive to draw.

Sunday was Mother's Day, and so on Saturday night I decided to sketch my mom as a present to her.

This painting was the only one I kept from all the lousy attempts at drawing for myself I did all week.

My mom is one of best examples of a woman that I know.
She's extraordinarily giving, sweet, funny, and joyful.
And she's been incredibly patient with me and my painstaking journey to find my career, despite my obvious frustrations with myself.
And I couldn't be more grateful to her for being the role-model she is, and her undying support for anything I set my mind to achieve.

Relationships come and go, but a mother's love always stays the same.
Thank you, Mama for all you've done, and all that you are, and all that you mean to me.
I love you, I love you, I love you.
And I thank God for blessing me with you.

Axe

It seems the Bow and Arrow are becoming more popular with female protagonists these days (Artemis from Young Justice, Merida from Brave, and Katniss from Hunger Games). And while it is quite a kick butt weapon, I'd like to see a female with a more... brutish weapon, and wield it just a well as a man.

I don't know of many female characters whose first weapon of choice would be an axe (other than Astrid from How to Train Your Dragon), so I thought I'd play around with some ideas.

This is one of the first doodles I came up with.
I'll prolly post the rest later.
